Sky's the Limit Youth Organization
Laptops for youth in need
STL is mobilizing to provide COVID-19 relief for youth in need.
With the rapid increase of confirmed cases and the concern for public safety the Premier’s Office announced that all publicly funded schools in Ontario will be closed indefinitely.
On March 20, 2020, the Ministry of Education launched Learn at Home. This new online portal provides resources that allow students to continue learning while schools are closed. These resources are available online for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Post-secondary education also made a move to online learning, with lectures being given virtually.
With our youth in Ontario now learning online, getting laptops into the hands of the youth who need them is more important than ever. We are working hard to coordinate the delivery of laptops, and now we call on you, our supporters and believers in the power of technology to change the lives of youth, to answer the call to action for our youth in the GTA. Now is the time to give if you are able. Donate on our Canada Helps giving page, just $250 will put a refurbished laptop into the hands of a youth who needs it. If you have a laptop that is in good working condition lying around, contact us to donate your device with an arranged porch pick up.
In these uncertain times the strength of community is what will be remembered the most. Let us join together to ensure no youth in the GTA is forgotten.
Stay healthy and may all be well,
Lara Tavares, STL Founder & BOD Chair
