Sky’s the Limit Youth Organization is a registered Canadian charity: BN: 857579742RR0001

What we do – Our Vision
Sky’s the Limit is dedicated to addressing the widening Digital Divide in Canada by providing students with access to the tools and resources they need to pursue the infinite opportunities and possibilities available to them.

How we do it – Our Mission
Sky’s the Limit provides refurbished laptop computers to under-resourced students who cannot otherwise afford them.

Sky’s the Limit provides refurbished computers to under-resourced students who are participants in a partner organization’s program. Students are provided support through an orientation or mentoring or training program that ensures that the students become familiar with how to use a computer and the Internet. Student recipients may also be referred by teachers, guidance counselors or apply for a computer online independently.

Active computer users can use technology to make a difference in their own lives, in the lives of their families, and their communities. When a student receives a computer from Sky’s the Limit, that student’s entire sphere of influence (estimated at potentially 30 people) benefits. Younger siblings have the opportunity to practice their skills from an early age. Parents have a chance to develop their skills, do research, or type a resume. Relatives and friends also can have the opportunity to have access to the computer. As Sky’s the Limit continues on its mission, more than just the individual student reaps the benefits of owning a computer.

Sky’s the Limit has also impacted the environment in a positive way. The average life span of a computer in Canada is 5 years. Burning computers creates carcinogens and burying them contaminates the ground and water. Sky’s the Limit provides environmental benefits by ensuring that computer systems are reused and recycled so that they do not end up in landfill sites.
