Northward Bound!
STL
has partnered with notable social activist, Toronto Police Constable
Ojo Tewogbade, in order to provide refurbished computers to
under-resourced youth residing in the Shawanaga First Nation community in Northern Ontario. STL visited the community in April. View photos from the trip! Deliveries will commmence in June.

Flare Volunteer Award Winner!
Lara Tavares, STL Founder and CEO, won the FLARE
Volunteer Award for 2008! This prestigious award is presented each year
to six outstanding Canadian female
volunteers aged 18 and up whose volunteer achievements have made a
difference to the lives of the people in their communities. The award
ceremony will take place on May 22nd in Toronto and the winners and
the event will be covered in subsequent issues of FLARE. This national coverage will most certainly generate lots of interest in STL! Visit Flare.com for award info

STL/P2E Ottawa Expansion
STL is fundraising to provide 200 computers to youth enrolled in Pinecrest, Ottawa's Pathways to Education Program this fall. The computers will be given to under-resourced students whose parents or guardians may not otherwise be able to afford them. Thanks to everyone who voted for our project on Givemeaning.com! Let the fundraising begin! Our first goal is to reach $5025.00 by June 25th.

60 Computers for StepStones
The StepStones for Youth Organization's mandate is to promote and continually improve fundamental core skills for youth
that will directly increase their potential for achievement at school,
in the community, and as members of the workforce. 60 girls, aged 12-14, received computers from STL after participating
in StepStones for Youth's two-week camp program. Visit the StepStones for Youth Website

STL Welcomes New Canadians
STL
provided 20 computers to 20 families through COSTI Immigration
Services. COSTI provides community-based employment, educational,
settlement and social services to immigrant communities. Many of these
youth from war-torn countries will be attending school regularly for

STL Recipient Profile - Jason Londono
From a young age Jason knew that he liked to build and fix things,
so when he learned about the Mechanical Engineering Program at George
Brown College he was quick to apply. Jason is now in his 2nd year
there and is working towards an Advanced Technologist Diploma. He is a
hard working and dedicated student, which is reflected in his marks. Read Jason's full profile

STL Volunteer Profile - Daniel Davidson
Daniel
became interested in STL after he had a great time attending an STL
fundraising event. Completing a post-graduate degree in public
relations at Humber College, part of his program entails volunteering
with a fundraising charity. When he learned of this, Daniel immediately
contacted STL. He admires what STL stands for and hopes to contribute
